Equinomics - Keeping Horses in Challenging Economic Times

The Allegan Extension office and MSU Equine team are presenting the program
"Equinomics - Keeping Horses in Challenging Economic Times." The free
program 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday Dec. 3 at the Human Services Building 3255 122nd Ave. in Allegan Township.

This program is designed to help interested horse owners decide if they can
continue to keep their horse in a humane manner or learn how to dispose of
their horse if the financial burden of keeping them is too great.

Matt Shane from Lenawee County Extension will cover nutrition of horses on a
tight budget. Veterinarian Jim Connell from Allegan will cover minimum
preventative health care of horses. Jan Brinn, Allegan 4-H agent and Shane
will discuss options and resources for those that can no longer keep their
horse.
