2010 BB SHOW BILL RULES

 

BITS & BRIDLES 4-H CLUB

OPEN YOUTH & POINT APPROVED HORSE SHOW

                                                                                           $3.00 PER CLASS

                                                                          $6.00 Championship Classes

                                                                                                  8 PLACINGS PER CLASS

Gate opens @ 6:30 A.M.

Trail may be ridden in either English or Western Seat.  Trail Class will take place in the Field between 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M.

 

 

1. 4-H Horse and Pony Show Rules & Regulation Bulletin1145 (current edition) will be for all                 classes, along with Livingston County 4-H Horse and Pony Program Rules (current edition)

 

2. Riders age is determined by the age he/she will be on Jan 1st of 2010

 

3. No stallions may be exhibited except in the calendar year in which he was foaled.

 

4. Registered horse must be shown in horse classes, regardless of height.

 

5. Pony height is 56” & under unless registered in a pony breeds accepting greater heights. Proof of height and / or registration papers required. All others will be measured.

 

6. Any unsportsmanlike conduct of either exhibitor or a spectator will results in dismissal from the show ground. Foul language, animal abuse or use of drugs, alcohol or tobacco may result in disqualification. The decision will be made by the judge and/or show committee.

 

7. The judge’s and/show committee’s decision is final in all classes.

 

8. Walk/trot may only show in Walk/Trot classes, except for showmanship which is by age. Exhibitor is disqualified if the horse/pony canters in the timed events

 

9. Walk/Trot riders must ride in a performance class to participate in gymkhana classes.

 

10. Novice Canter classes are for a riders first year showing in canter classes.  Ponies are to be entered in regular cantering pony classes, and not in the Novice class. Novice Canter riders may show in Showmanship and Pattern classes (by age group) if no Novice class is offered.

 

11. Riders ages 5 & 6 must be on a lead line with parent or guardian and classes are walk only, Must wear a helmet.

 

12. Riders ages 7 & 8 must have an adult in the ring at all times and classes are walk/trot. Lead line is optional. Must wear a helmet.

 

13. Class size and/ or splitting of classes will be at the discretion of the judge and/or show committee. (15 & over will be split)

 

14. S.E.I. approved helmets (no bike or similar type helmets) with harnesses are required in all Jumping, Gymkhana, Hunt Seat and for all participants 8 and under. Helmet safety and fit are the responsibility of the exhibitor or his/her parents, if a minor.

 

15. Entry deadline is two classes prior to entering the ring.

 

16. Jumping classes may be combined or eliminated at the discretion of the show committee. Class rules are those filed and approved by the LCHLA.

 

17. All ties will be broken by a question from the current 4-H Rules and Regulations Bulletin 1145. 

 

18. No refunds

 

19. Negative Coggins within current calendar year is required to enter the grounds.

 

20. No dogs allowed on grounds

 

21. Must have 5 entries in a High Point Class

 

22. Please clean up after your horse and yourself before leaving the park.
